Hortensia Neely Albertini, Owner, President and Chairman of the Board, founded Global LT, formerly Langua Tutor in 1979.  She is a native of Cuba, and has extensive language teaching experience.  Hortensia created her unique approach of providing various language and cultural services via a centralized model vs. a brick and mortar infrastructure.  Today Global LT services clientele in over 900 locations worldwide.  Hortensia and Global LT have recently received the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Five on the Rise Award for Global Expansion, and Global LT was recognized as a top U.S. American-Hispanic owned business in 2009.  Hortensia is fluent in Spanish and English. 

Lisette Poletes, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Board, joined Global LT in 2009.  Lisette has extensive experience in the healthcare field, most notably with Pfizer Inc. and Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation.  While at Pfizer she consistently exceeded her sales goals, ranking in the top 20% of all field sales executives nationwide.  Other accomplishments included achievement of Vice Presidents Cabinet status two consecutive years and winning District Representative of the Year three times.   Lisette is a graduate of Michigan State University where she made the Dean’s List.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising. Lisette is fluent in Spanish and English. 

Ken Patterson, Chief Operating Officer and Board Treasurer, has compiled over 20 years of experience in the Finance discipline working for a variety of companies in the Midwest.  His career has spanned positions with global auto companies and Tier 1 and 2 suppliers, as well as with family-owned enterprises.  Ken has a Master of Science degree in Management and a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Walsh College.  Prior to joining Global LT in 2007, Ken was the controller for an engineering services firm.  Ken was formerly Global LT’s Director of Accounting & Finance. 

Eric Aasheim, Vice President, Sales, is a graduate of Yale University.  He has been with Global LT since 1997.  In his present position, Eric has responsibility for international sales.  He is also the corporate interface with Prudential Relocation and manages this strategic alliance.  Eric’s education and prior experience equip him to be one of Global LT’s subject matter experts on all aspects of language training, curriculum development, and instructional design.   

Tom Hanson, Senior Vice President - Sales, has worked in Seville, Spain studying Spanish prior to his employment with Global LT. He has a Bachelor degree from Central Michigan and has worked in the translation, interpretation and language industry for 15 years. Tom is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and development of the Global LT sales force; and he oversees a multi-cultural sales team with representatives residing throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Suzanne Smulsky, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, has 30+ years experience in Marketing and Sales; 25 years with Ford Motor Company.  Suzanne has a Bachelor degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Michigan State University Advanced Management Program.  Suzanne joined Global LT in 2005.  In her role, she is responsible for all aspects of Marketing – advertising, events, PR and internet marketing.

Marisa Vazquez, Vice President, Operations, has a culturally rich background.  Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Peru, Panama, and the Dominican Republic, Marisa returned to the United States to earn a degree in Bi-Lingual Education with a specialization in Multi-Cultural Studies from the University of Miami.   Prior to joining Global LT in 2008, Marisa served as the Director of Languages at Catholic University of Santiago in the Dominican Republic.  Marisa is fluent in Spanish and English.
