Destination Services and Relocation Services
Global LT customizes its Relocation Services to fit the needs of each
individual client. Our goal is to ease the transition and to make it a positive
experience for each family member. Our services include assistance with, but are
not limited to the following areas:
Welcome Orientation
(5 hours)
- Introduction to Global LT - What our company does/Our role and our services
during the relocation process
- Review of Personal Survey and Reference Sheet – Discusion of needs for
housing, schooling, daily life and leisure activities, special requests
- Welcome Orientation – Overview of destination area, discussion of points of
interest, delivery of Orientation Packet . (Maps, Brochures, Emergency
Information, Useful tips, etc.)
**Please inform your Global LT coordinator about the company policies for the
Expat in regards to housing, furniture, housewares & electronics
allowances/regulations on the allocation of allowances/ necessary stipulations
in home lease contracts/ company car, etc.
Home Selection
(10-16 hours)
- Discussion of housing options – Type of housing/neighborhood, proximity to
work, proximity to points of interest/recreation areas
- List of Appropriate Choices – Based on discussed preferences assignee will
receive list of housing choices
- Housing search – Visit and revisit Apartment, condos, houses
- Assistance with Lease Review – Forward the lease to HR Representative for
review and approval, explanation of lease terms to expat
- Upon request - Assistance with hotel reservations/corporate housing- 2
hrs
** Some states/countries require a realtor commission fee, to be paid by the
assignee or company. Please let your Global LT coordinator know who is
responsible for this fee –if applicable.
School Selection
(6 hours)
- Introduction to School Districts – Overview of school system, discussion of
schooling options
- School Visits - Arrange and accompany tour of schools
- Language Information – Accompany to evaluation of language proficiency
- Enrollment Information – Assistance with school enrollment
Community Orientation
(8 hours)
- Driving Tour of Area – Tour of areas close to home and work
- Community Tour – Tour of points of interests (e.g. post office, parks, bank,
stores, clubs), recreational activities and cultural highlights
- Shopping - Overview of stores, malls, international shopping options
- Restaurants – Information on popular places to eat and to go out
Furniture Selection
(3-5 hours)
- Furniture options – Overview of furniture, appliance stores and furniture
rental options
- Rental furniture Assistance – Assistance with furniture selection, lease and
delivery
Utilities
(4 hours)
- Assistance with set-up of - Gas, Electricity, Water, Trash
- Overview of optional utilites – Information on phone, internet, cable
providers
- Upon request – Assistance with set-up of phone, internet, cable – 2
hrs
Banking
(2 hours)
- Overview Banking Sector – Explanation of differences in banking to home
country
- Opening Accounts – Schedule and accompany to bank appointment
Social Security Card
(if applicable, 2 hours)
- Explanation of Process – Definition of SS and need of SSN
- Visit Social Security Office – Assistance obtaining SSN
Driver's License
(if applicable, 3-6 hours)
- Driving Rules – Overview of Driving Rules in Destination Country
- Driving Tests – Scheduling of and accompany to written and road
tests
Miscellaneous
(Upon Request)
- Visit to Doctor’s Office – Accompany assignee to doctor’s office
- Hospitals/Birthing Centers – Accompany to initial visits
- Home and Auto Insurance – Provide information on insurances
- Other
Notes
- Packages of services are available at reduced rates
- Services are performed in the most logical order for the circumstances of
the family and do not necessarily follow this outline
- A minimum of 4 hours is billed per request for one time type
requests
