Global LT has adopted the Pimsleur Method of learning, which allows students to study at their own pace, and on their own time. This three part Audio CD or Cassette series provides the student with the most flexibility in learning a new language when it's convenient for him. Busy travelers and short-term assignees often enjoy this type of training, as it gives them the flexibility to learn on the go.
The Pimsleur Method is built around our natural language-learning capabilities. When we were children, we seemed to absorb language easily. As we age, that learning process tends to becomes more difficult. Dr. Pimsleur studied the way that language skills are developed as we grow up, and applied those techniques to his revolutionary system.
According to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proficiency ratings scale:
Pimsleur I
The Pimsleur I pogram will take a learner from zero spoken proficiency to an Intermediate--Low level in thirty lessons
Pimsleur II
The Pimsleur II will take a learner who has completed I and II (sixty lessons) to the Intermediate--Mid level
Pimsleur III
The Pimsleur III will take a learner who has completed Pimsleur I, II and III (ninety lessons) to the Intermediate--High level of spoken proficiency
