Troy, MI, January 8, 2009 – This January, Global LT, a leading provider of language services headquartered in Troy, Michigan with offices around the world, begins celebrating its 30th anniversary year.
According to Hortensia Neely, company Founder and President, the company was started because she believed she could provide clients a more effective approach to language training – a proficiency-based approach – than competitors. As an expatriate from Cuba, Hortensia found herself in the position of needing to learn a new language and culture, upon her arrival in the United States in 1961. ‘From my own experience, I knew what worked and what was not so effective. My experience and empathy for clients has influenced my business.’
During the past three decades, Global LT has grown from its humble beginnings as a home-based business to a global company, serving corporate clients around the world with language training, cultural training, translation services and expatriate relocation settling-in services. Suzanne Smulsky, Global LT’s Director of Marketing and Communication, estimates that since 1979 Global LT has delivered their services to thousands of corporate employees all over the world. ‘When you consider our portfolio of offerings, we have provided language services to over 40,000 clients in over 900 locations worldwide. We have reached out to clients on every continent with the exception of Antarctica over the past 30 years.’
