Global LT Announces New Department Head

Date: 03/10/2008

Global LT, a leading provider of language services headquartered in Troy, Michigan, with offices throughout the U.S. and internationally, is pleased to announce the appointment of Marisa Vazquez to Manager of Global LT’s Cultural Training and Expatriate Services Department.

Ms. Vazquez replaces Snejana Kitanova in the position. Ms. Kitanova relocated to Frankfurt, Germany with Global LT in an account executive capacity.

According to Suzanne Smulsky, Global LT Marketing & Communications’ Director, Marisa Vazquez has a culturally rich background. Born in Cuba, Ms. Vazquez left with her family in the early 1960’s. Initially settling in Miami via Spain, Marisa spent her childhood in Peru, Panama, and the Dominican Republic before returning to the U.S. to attend college at the University of Miami. There she earned a degree in Bi-Lingual Education, with a specialization in Multi-Cultural Studies. ‘Marisa has lived and traveled abroad extensively. She has actually experienced the expatriate lifestyle herself, living in different cultures, speaking a different language. She can relate to what our clients will undergo. Her empathy, experience, and education make her uniquely qualified to oversee our Cultural and Expatriate Services Department. We certainly anticipate growth for the department under her leadership,’ says Smulsky.

Prior to joining Global LT, Ms Vazquez served as the Director of Languages at Catholic University of Santiago in the Dominican Republic. She has traveled extensively, visiting countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Most recently, she headed her own multi-cultural design firm, providing complete design consultation for residential and commercial customers.
